Bosch Experiment #2
I know you all have been waiting with baited breath (whatever that means) to hear the continuing saga of my efforts to make bread without ending up with the inner shaft of the mixing bowl filled with dough. Today was Experiment #2.
After my last attempt I had decided to abandon the little gizmo that shredded the duct tape, and decided that I would use longer stronger pieces of duct tape that went all the way down into the bowl in hopes that these pieces of tape would survive the mixing and kneading process relatively intact.
I am exceedingly pleased (but not so pleased as the dishwasher boy will be) to be able to tell you that it worked! My pictures turned out a little too bright, but they still establish the presence of duct tape, the absence of duct tape shreds,
and dough-less bottom of the bowl immediately following the kneading process!
Hooray!!

Congratulations on a successful duct tape experiment. You make me want to watch "MacGyver" now. :D
ReplyDeleteYAY! THANK YOU! THIS IS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE! I'M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!
ReplyDeleteMegan--LOL! I loved MacGyver.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere recently that all you really need in this world is duct tape and WD40. If something moves but shouldn't, duct tape. If something should move but doesn't, WD40!
you know, I have just started using a new to me bosch and have really hated trying to get the dough out of the center!
ReplyDeletedid your duct tape go all the way down inside the bowl?
Now if only I can get my wheat grinder to stop smoking.....
And all along I thought this was just my problem! I had no idea it was happening to other people!
ReplyDeleteI used strips of duct tape about 1/2-3/4 inch wide, and they went all the way down the shaft of the bowl. I did do the first water/flour mixing pretty fast because I didn't want the tape sitting in water any longer than it needed to!
