Global Fashion

In the last 6 months Josh has decided to become brand and fashion conscious. At no time has this been more apparent as in the last few weeks, as he has stalked a particular brand of jacket on ebay.

Apparently North Face jackets are all the rage, and Josh decided he was willing to spend some of his own money to get one, since they cost far more than we were willing to pay.

It took a couple of weeks, but he finally bid enough to win an auction. He was so excited the day the jacket arrived.

We were excited because the package that it came in was very cool.

Isn't that a great label!

But what we can't figure is this:
Why did a jacket sold by a person who says they're in California,
That is made in Mexico,
Get shipped from China???

  1. China is the new California. It's all the rage on the internet to claim you are from California when you really are from China - ever since all of that China paint lead stuff last year.

  2. There is a young man named Zhoa who lives in California. He flew to China to visit his mom, and while he was there, he left his jacket. When he got back to California it was unseasonable cool and he couldn't wait for his jacket to be sent from China. So he bought a new jacket and posted the old one on EBay. When Josh had the highest bid, he asked his mother to send Josh the old jacket.

This could be one explanation. You could substitute mother with jilted ex-girlfriend who found out he was cheating with some co-worker in California, so she posed as Zhoa and sold his beloved jacket on E-bay. Sweet, sweet revenge. It's a good thing he didn't leave his car!

    Really, the possibilities are endless.

PS It makes perfect sense that the jacket is made in Mexico and so easily accessible in CA since they are so close. But I knew you would figure that out, so I didn't go on and on about THAT;)

  3. Sean--that makes sense. I'll remind Josh not to lick anything.

  4. My guess is that the jacket was both made in China and shipped from there. The Mexico tag was probably attached there, too, since people in China make lots of things and make really good copies, too. I once saw a John Denmer cd for sale in China.
