Note to Self

Remind me--the next time the child insists that he needs more underwear or socks, to check his drawer first. He might already have ENOUGH SOCKS FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY!!

Update: I picked said child up from school, and in the course of our driving conversation told him that I'd found 21 pairs of socks in his drawer. His response? "I can never find any socks!"

And I'm sure he can't. Probably because in the drawer were:
  • 9 pair of ankle socks
  • 12 pair of crew socks
  • 3 pair of khaki socks for Sunday
  • 3 pair of khaki socks for Sunday for the big brother
  • 2 pair of black socks for Sunday for the big brother
  • 6 pair of ankle socks for the big brother
  • 5 pair of Sunday socks for the little brother
  • 1 pair of regular socks for the little brother
  • 12 pair of boxers that he will wear
  • 5 pair of boxers that he won't wear
  • 3 pair of briefs that he no longer wears
  • 2 pair of the little brother's underwear
  • 3 pair of pajama pants that no longer fit
  • 3 pair of pajama pants that do fit
  • 2 bathing suits with dead elastic
  • 2 bathing suits that are still good
No wonder he couldn't find a pair of socks! It would have been a miracle if he had been able to find anything!

  1. Haha, right..and usually they are in a drawer...not where anyone would actually LOOK... :) we had about 5,000 socks at one point.. 2 boys who would only wear socks if they fit perfectly on their foot...yikes!
