I'm Thinking About:

We may on occasion find ourselves in uncomfortable situations where we differ in doctrine with our acquaintances, friends, and family members. But the doctrine can never be used to justify treating others with anything less than respect and dignity. We can stand firm in our beliefs and have a loving relationship with those who hold differing opinions. It is never an either-or choice. We love and live our doctrine, and we love those who do not live it. We need not create false dichotomies. The late Elder Marvin J. Ashton shared this insight from an inspired leader: “The best and most clear indicator that we are progressing spiritually and coming unto Christ is the way we treat other people.

Well now I am…

On Christmas Eve day when we went ice skating I sat down by a little British boy who was about 4 years old, just so I could hear his cute accent. He looked at me, and without missing a beat, asked in his adorable little English voice,

Are you someone’s granny??

Well now I am.

And Russ is a grandpa.

Our awesome son-in-law is a dad,

And Cindy Lynn, quite possibly the toughest pregnant woman I’ve ever known, is a mommy. If there was ever a woman who deserved this, it is her.

We couldn’t be happier.

Oh that hair!!! She has to be the cutest. You will be the best Grandma. You always had someone's baby in your arms at church. You are just made to hold babies. She couldn't have got a better Grandma. I wish I could hold that precious little one! She is adorable... and I hope CL recovers well. I thought about her a lot just after I delivered Timothy and still had a wrechedly deep, uncomfortable cough (so bad they wheeled me downstairs to get a chest x-ray the day after he was born to make sure I wasn't developing pneumonia). It is no fun to cough while healing from delivery - - - and I'm sure CL's coughs are so much harder... I'm thinking about her!
