Today I drove Rachel, Jenna, and Jared over to the local elementary school and signed them up
to take Music, PE, and later choir and band.
As you can tell from the picture the girls were really nervous and Rachel wasn’t willing to smile. They all felt a little better when they got into the 6th grade classes and saw kids that they knew already from church, scouts, and the apartments.
One of the things that we are really excited about is that in Oregon you don’t have to be all the way homeschooled—you can use the public school system however much you want. So here we go on a new school adventure—homeschooling with just a little bit of public school to start our day. And a new big LDS homeschooling group that starts on Friday, too!
How cool! It's amazing how much anxiety the public school system can cause- I am still living in fear of my kids' new prinicpal...
ReplyDeleteWell, Rachel was telling me in all caps on chat how much she LOVED SCHOOL, so I think the nervousness wore off! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI love that you can add what you like without having to do all the of the day. Very cool.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful! The best of both worlds. In FL, the year Dave and Dan were wanting to play HS ball...they opened it up! It was a good experience (in most ways!)...
