Thoughts on Adam and Eve

Yesterday's excellent Sunday School lesson was on Adam & Eve in the Garden of Eden. The teacher, as always, did an excellent job. There were several humerous moments.

The first came as the teacher asked people to list out things that described what the Garden of Eden was like. The answers came quickly:
  • paradise
  • no death
  • no weeds
  • lots of fruit
  • no children
And without even missing a beat, the teacher (the mother of three young sons) commented,
"And that was why it was paradise! There was no noise!!

Later she was talking about what it meant to be the first parents, as Adam and Eve were. I had never considered some of the implications of this.

What on earth do you think Adam & Eve thought when the first toddler threw the first temper tantrum???

  1. I bet they thought it was very entertaining, until he threw another one, and another one, and another one...

  2. It must not have been too bad because they kept having more and more kids! LOL

  3. I've been thinking about this this year - what on EARTH did Eve think when she experienced childbirth???

  4. those tantrums must have been rough considering one of her sons grew up to kill his brother...

  5. I just noticed that Adam's hemline is rather risque!

  6. Katie--you're probably right.
and I'm betting that the picture was painted back when basketball players wore short shorts!

Amy--I'm sure it was an oversight! ;) Either that or it was that the first child didn't throw tantrums, just the second.

CL--no clue. Hopefully it was one of those times when the body seems to know just what to do, and not on of the aweful times.

Em--you think that was the problem?

  7. Interesting observation. Not knowing others who had gone through it before could have made it harder -- unless not having anyone around who seemed to do it better made it easier? =)
