Why the Beach Makes us Happy
This article was printed a few months ago in Coastal Living. I've waited for it to come online so I could send people who I knew would appreciate it a link, but I finally gave in and scanned it. I love that there's actually scientific research about this--now I know what I want to do when I grow up! (you should be able to click on the pages to enlarge them to read.)

Beautiful article.
ReplyDeleteI just read something somewhere else that was talking about this same thing...
ReplyDeleteIt's foggy over the bay this morning and I was mad that I didn't get to see the ocean like I normally do...getting spoiled:)
Ocean as therapy. What a beautiful concept. The description in the sidebar about the sun coming through doors and windows made me so nostalgic for mornings on Emerald Isle.
ReplyDeleteSo, so interesting. We watched a storm come in over the ocean last night and stood outside on our balcony when it hit. It was incredible... and I thought to myself, 'there is something therapeutic about this...' And I didn't just mean about the rain pelting our faces like hail (causing belly laughs like you wouldn't believe), but I meant about this whole experience we're having. It's been less than a week here and I already wonder how I will ever be able to leave this...
