I'm Thinking About:

February 24th

We may on occasion find ourselves in uncomfortable situations where we differ in doctrine with our acquaintances, friends, and family members. But the doctrine can never be used to justify treating others with anything less than respect and dignity. We can stand firm in our beliefs and have a loving relationship with those who hold differing opinions. It is never an either-or choice. We love and live our doctrine, and we love those who do not live it. We need not create false dichotomies. The late Elder Marvin J. Ashton shared this insight from an inspired leader: “The best and most clear indicator that we are progressing spiritually and coming unto Christ is the way we treat other people.

Thanksgiving Week

For Thanksgiving last week we drove many hours to arrive here

So that we could spend time with Russ's brother

And his wife.

They are some of the coolest people we know, and spending 4 whole days with them in such a beautiful (though chilly) place made us all happy.

I'll post more fun trip pictures later, when I have recovered from the 14 hr trip home!

Megan--the water was downright cold all of the time, and the air only part of the time. The picture is from the first day, which was about 70 degrees. The rest of the week wasn't nearly as nice, and some days were too cold & windy to be on the beach.

Yeah - being on the beach at anytime is wonderful...but it's much more fun when it's sunny! Though, one of my favorite beach memories involved a chilly night, a bonfire from an old, dead Christmas tree, s'mores, and a very angry old man the next morning (who was apparently the owner of the old, dead Christmas tree) who brought to our attention that those Christmas trees you see out on the beach aren't public property. :) Oops...
