It’s a Giveaway!

I've been working on a new project for the last two weeks and having so much fun.  After my friend Megan suggested for the second time that I should make cards with my pictures, I decided to give it a try.  I went through years of digital pictures, made a folder of pictures that I thought were nice, and started printing, cutting, and folding.  I can’t believe how great they are turning out--and now I can’t stop!  So I figured I might as well give some away.

I seem to have several distinct themes.  Beaches & Oceans, of course.

Roses, of course.

I also noticed a few other categories in my picture-taking.  Landscapes,

Miscellaneous flowers,

and critters.

So here’s the deal.  I’m going to leave this post at the top of my blog for a week.  Don’t worry, I’ll still be posting—you and I both know that the likelihood of me going a whole week without having something to say is pretty small indeed!  But I’ll leave the giveaway post at the top so that everyone sees it.  Leave a comment and tell me how you’d use the cards, and if there’s one category you’d prefer.

I have to say—I’ve done most of my correspondence through email the last few years, but these cards are so beautiful I’m trying to figure out reasons to send notes via snail mail!

  1. Cindy, you could sell these to a card company. They are beautiful!

  2. I think I would chop them up and stick them into a frame! The beach ones would look especially nice in my guest bathroom!

  3. Those are great. So, you need to start your own little shop to share your talents. You take awesome pictures and make the best clothes. Maybe you should start taking pictures of kids wearing the clothes you make. You could have mini photo shoots. :) Make some bows and tutus and you will be all set. :)

  5. The real problem is that no one is really gonna know how GREAT these are when they get them in the mail because they are all going to assume they are store bought!!!!!

  6. Hey, You know I have always loved the family pictures you have taken for us but these pictures really are beautiful and so artistic. YOU ARE AN ARTIST!!! I am sure that I would agree with Andra. I few blown up I am sure would look so cute on the little shelf in Lilly's bedroom and I am sure there would be a great couple for my bedroom or bathroom too! Maybe we should just work on our own project of picking some when I come in June!

  9. They look so great! I can easily picture them getting mistaken as store-bought cards. =) I wouldn't even know which ones to choose, they all look so lovely. Are you sure you don't want to start your own etsy shop or something?

  10. I totally agree with Kerri- I would be your first customer! I like the landscape ones the best, but they are all beautiful. I would probably use them to catch up on my overdue thank-you notes, since I ran out of cards a few months ago and have yet to buy new ones!

  11. Oh, pick me pick me! I love the beaches and oceans category - - - though the flowers and roses are beautiful too - - - as are the critters. :) I would definitely use them as thank-you cards (I only have 4 left) and probably thinking-of-you cards as well.

    I'm very impressed.

  12. Those cards are just beautiful. That was a great idea!

I can always use beautiful cards to send to family and friends! I would love the beach ones! I would love to take a little of what you love with me and then share that with other people I love.

You could totally sell these and I'd buy them. So will you sell what you don't give away?

  13. I have a Sister Missionary going out in May and one in August that loves getting cards from me. So does the cute little six year-old I write to. But like everyone, I think I should buy them and not receive them as a give away.

  14. Cindy - I didn't know you made cards! They are fabulous! I especially love the flowers. My faves! You are very talented. Is there anything you CAN'T do? :)

  15. You guys have all been so kind about my cards--thank you!!

Kerri--I don't think I could combine my talents like that--I'm not that good at taking pictures of little kids!

Andra--I think I'm going to buy a custom stamp to go on the back of the cards. If I can just figure out what to put on the stamp!

To everyone--if I was to sell them, what would they be worth? No, that's not the right question. What would you be willing to pay for them? I have no clue, other than what they cost me to make.

Jenny--I can do a couple of things. But one of the things I cannot do is keep my house clean. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that I am not willing to make the time trade-off to keep my house clean!
